From June 13 to June 14, Bureau of Commerce, Qingdao has organized Haier, Tsingtao Brewery, Aucma, CNQC, Hiking Group, Qingdao Beverage Group, Haide Road & Bridge, Rui Chang Tech, Hengshun Zhongsheng into a trade delegation of Qingdao to visit Mozambique. The president Gong Guanglei has kept company with the delegation as a representative.
On June 14, the delegation attended China-Portuguese-speaking Countries Productivity Cooperation Meeting, jointly sponsored by the Permanent Secretariat of the China-Portuguese-speaking Countries Economic and Trade Cooperation Forum (Macau) and Mozambican Investment Promotion Center. Su Jian, ambassador of China to Mozambique , Xu Yingzhen, secretary general of the permanent secretariat of the China-Portugal Forum (Macau) and Carla·Soto, deputy secretary general of the Mozambican Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Alvaro Masinga, vice chairman of Mozambican Federation of Economic Association, Belmiro Malet, director of Asia and Oceania Division of Mozambican Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation attended the meeting and delivered speeches.
The ambassador, Su Jian said in his speech that Mozambique is a key country for China-Africa productivity cooperation. In May, 2016, President of Mozambique, Filipe Nyusi has signed the Agreement of Productivity Cooperation Framework and Economic and Trade Cooperation Zone Memorandum of Understanding with China during his visit to China. The bilateral cooperation has achieved remarkable results. At present, China is Mozambique’s largest source of investment with nearly 100 China-funded enterprises investing in Mozambique, covering the energy resources development, agriculture, constructional engineering, construction materials, tourism, communications, digital televisions and many other fields. China and Mozambique are in a new era of cooperation and mutual benefit, hoping that entrepreneurs will seize the opportunity and make China-Mozambique a model of China-Africa cooperation. The secretary general, Xu Yingzhen said in his speech that in order to implement the Memorandum of Understanding on the Promotion of Productivity Cooperation of the China-Portugal Forum signed by the parties during the Fifth Ministerial Meeting of the China-Portugal Forum, the participants have set up a working group on productivity cooperation under the framework of the China-Portugal Forum and made the 2017 production working group work plan. At present, most of the Portuguese-speaking countries are in the important stage of industrial development which are in urgent need of strengthening the infrastructure construction. In this context, it is of great practical significance to enhance the productivity cooperation between China and Portuguese-speaking countries. To give great impetus to the productivity cooperation is in line with the aim of Mozambican government to enhance peoples living standards. Mozambique has a wealth of natural resources and climate advantages, and a wide cooperative space with China in agriculture, television, engineering, mining, processing and other fields. The director, Belmiro Malet and the vice president, Alvaro Masinga said in their speeches respectively that China and Mozambique have a long history of friendship, a high integrating degree of development strategy and strong economic complementarities. China is one of Mozambiques largest source of investment, major trading partners, infrastructure financiers and builders. Mozambiques economy will continue to grow steadily over the next few years, and the development of railways, highways and parks will bring new business opportunities for cooperation between the two countries. The Mozambique government will continue to provide sustained and effective protection for Chinese enterprises through the development of tax incentives, simplifying the investment process and optimizing the business environment.
During the visit to Mozambique, our company and local associations and business circles have achieved positive results in projects docking exchange activities. The delegation has also visited the Chinese Embassy in Mozambique, Mozambican Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation and other departments and exchanged extensively to deepen bilateral relations.
